The Regional Finals of the 2014 EBYDS Championships was held at ISCA IBC, Exeter on Sunday 27 April 2014.

With the help in preparation from Coaches and Veryan IBC, Bodmin IBC and Newquay IBC a strong team was sent to represent Cornwall.

The final results were:

Senior Winner 81 pts and Runner Up 77 pts.    Jordan Sanders was equal third with 72 pts and Zack Goddard had 42 pts.

Junior Winner 75 pts and Runner Up 74 pts.   Jack Richards 57 pts, Josh Gilbert 55 pts, Sam Richards 48 pts Emily Geach 24 pts and Holly Gilbert 11 pts.

Considering that 4 players were taking part in their first competition and Jordan Sanders may yet get an invitation to the National Finals as one of the highest third places.       The Junior bowlers can be proud of their efforts which will stand them in good stead for future involvement.

A special mention for Holly Gilbert.  As there was a vacancy caused by the non appearance of one player Holly was asked if she would make up the numbers.   This is a 10 year old girl that has never bowled a competitive bowl and had very limited tuition.  The only knowledge of the exercises was from watching her brother Joshua practicing.
