Cornish bowler, Mark Read of Stenalees Bowling Club has been selected to play for England in the prestigous Hong Kong Classic tournament to be held from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 11th November inclusive.

Mark as been a senior England international since 2008 and has regularly represented England in the British Isles championshipsmhowever this is his first call up to represent England overseas.   The tournament has players from around the world and  comprises both singlesand pairs which Mark will play with his England team mate Robert Newman of   Berkshire.

The confirmed team is Robert Newman (Berkshire), Mark Read  (Cornwall), Sandy Hazell (Kent) and Julie Leake (Dorset),

Mark says ” I was very shocked and honoured to be selected for the Hong Kong classic which is one of the most prestigous tournaments on the outdoor bowls  calendar and am sure it will be tremendous experience..
