I felt greatly honoured to be nominated as Junior-Vice President in 2010 and have really enjoyed the last two years meeting so many of you and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my club, Liskeard, and all the County Officers for their support and cheerful guidance on my journey.

As President of Bowls Cornwall for the season of 2013 I shall do my best to be a good ambassador for our County and for the sport of Bowls. I would like to welcome Shirley Coad as Junior-Vice President onto our Presidential team and along with Mike McPherson as Senior-Vice President and of course Roger Priestley as Immediate Past President I am sure we will work well together.

Our sport must continue to evolve in order to progress which I feel it must do to encourage new players into the game and therefore ensure the continuing success of bowls for the future.

In conclusion I wish you all a happy , successful and hopefully drier season and look forward to visiting as many clubs as possible

Yours sincerely

Mike Diston of Mylor Bridge with Richard Brown have won the pairs in the BWBA premier outdoor event which was held at the Isle of Wedmore Bowls Club.

The BWDA competition was played as a round robin consisting of a two sets format until the semi final stages and then becomes a straight knock-out.

Heavy thundery downpours delayed the start of the final which was one of the closest finals seen for quite some time with Mike Diston and Richard Brown winning the match and the title.

Bowls Cornwall congratulates Mike Diston on his success together with this partner Richard Brown.
